UNICEF
My friends and I have led our high school's UNICEF Team since sophomore year. As the president of the team, I guide all members and coordinate events and fundraisers. This year we have raised about $1,500 towards children and humanitarian aid.
Hackathons
I absolutely love using my free time to come up with new ideas for hackathons. I usually compete online through Devpost. Hackathons and competitions I've won awards in so far include:
- AIYES International Youth AI Competition (Fall 2026) — Gold Award and track winner for ResQ AI
- USAII Global AI Hackathon (June 2026) — Top 10 Finalist at the high school level out of 6,000+ participants
- ForInovation Global Innovation Challenge (March 2026) — 2nd Place and Innovation Achievement Award for EcoKiosk, plus an invitation to publish a book
- ORIGIN Hackathon (2026) — Best Hardware or Physical Computing Project
- Next Byte Hacks (January 2026) — Interview Internship Prize for EcoKiosk
- DeltaSTEMHorizon Hacks V1 (May 2025) — Two special prizes, the Iteration Machine Prize and the Interview Cake Prize, out of 1,300+ participants
Archery
I compete on the Walnut Grove High School archery team. Archery rewards focus, consistency, and patience: every shot comes down to repeating the same form under pressure and staying calm when a round is not going my way. Practicing with my teammates after school has taught me discipline and how to steadily improve through small, deliberate adjustments.
CodeWars
I actively practice programming through Codewars, where I have reached a 4 kyu ranking by consistently solving complex algorithmic challenges. I spend time breaking down difficult problems into smaller components, experimenting with different approaches, and learning from both my own solutions and those of others. Many challenges require creative thinking and persistence, especially when the solution is not immediately obvious. This process has strengthened my ability to think algorithmically and approach problems from multiple angles.
